Fixed window inserts
Fixed Stained Glass Window Inserts
I design and fabricate custom stained glass window inserts for interior applications. Fixed window inserts are decorative stained glass panels made to fit inside an existing window opening, often mounted behind clear glass or within an interior frame.
These inserts are intended to add color, light, and character to a space without replacing structural or exterior window glass. Each piece is built to order using the same materials and techniques I use in my own stained glass work.

Fixed Window Insert FAQ
What is a fixed stained glass window insert?
A fixed window insert is a decorative stained glass panel designed to fit inside an existing window opening. It does not replace structural or exterior glass and is intended for interior or protected applications only.
Are these for interior or exterior use?
Fixed window inserts are for interior or decorative use only. They are not designed to function as exterior, weather-sealed, or structural windows.
Do you install the window inserts?
Installation is not provided at this time. Inserts are fabricated to size and prepared for installation by the homeowner or a contractor of their choice.
How do I measure my window opening?
Final measurements are provided by the client prior to fabrication. You may measure the opening yourself or have a contractor measure it. I’m happy to offer general guidance, but the approved measurements are the client’s responsibility.
What types of windows are a good fit?
Good candidates include:
Fixed interior windows
Transoms
Decorative inserts behind clear glass
Existing wood window frames
Operable windows, doors, and exterior-facing replacements are not offered at this time.
Can you match a specific design or idea?
Yes. Designs can be created from references, sketches, or general ideas. Each project is custom, and final design details are discussed before fabrication begins.
What materials do you use?
All inserts are made using the same stained glass, foil, solder, and techniques used in my own stained glass work and sold through the shop.
What is the pricing like?
Pricing varies based on size, complexity, and materials. A minimum project price applies. Quotes are provided after reviewing measurements, photos, and design direction.
Is a deposit required?
Yes. A deposit is required before design work and fabrication begin. Deposits are non-refundable once work has started.
How long does a project take?
Lead times vary depending on size and complexity. Typical timelines are discussed during the inquiry process.
